Andrea Marcucci is from Richmond, Virginia and uses she/her pronouns. She is double majoring in Management with a concentration in Human Resources and Management Consulting Analytics and minoring in Psychology.

Andrea Marcucci will be interning for Arconic from May to August of 2023.

We asked Andrea to share both her internship and Pamplin experiences with us.

How did you find your internship? How long have you been working there? What is your title and what do you do for them?

I found Arconic through Handshake, and I am supposed to interning there from May to August this summer. My title is HR intern, and I am supposed to learning the ins and outs of talent recruitment and HR processes at Arconic, while also completing independent/team projects that deal with data collection.

What do you want to do after graduation?

I hope to work in the HR field for a couple years then head to law school to study business law.

What advice would you give to an incoming Pamplin freshman?

Some advice I would give freshmen is to really explore the different major options Pamplin has to offer and see which one aligns with your interests the best. It's a big school, which can be overwhelming, but there's tons of resources to help you narrow down what works best for you. Also start looking for internships early on, which is something I wish I had done.

What is your favorite part about being a management and or Pamplin student?

My favorite part of being a management student is how applicable this major is for the workforce. Having adequate leadership/people skills is an important quality employers look for, and this major allows me to hone in on those skills.

What is your Linkedin?

My LinkedIn is AndreaMarcucci.

If any, what organizations are you in and what do you enjoy about them?

I am currently in Latin Link, Fluid, and Society of Human Resources Management, or SHRM. I love Latin Link because I get to be surrounded by those who share a culture with me, while also learning more about different South and Central American cultures. Fluid is an important organization on campus, meant to develop the professional skills of LGBTQ+ students. What I love about Fluid is the ability to feel like I belong in a space, while also learning information to further progress my career.
