Graduation Year: May 2025

Majors: Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Technology (EIT) and Management Consulting & Analytics

Company and Position: I’m currently pursuing full-time opportunities in the ski resort industry, specifically in ski school operations. My ideal role would be Ski School Operations Manager, where I’d oversee instructor teams, guest experiences, and operational logistics such as payroll, training, and scheduling.

Internship Location: I’m in contact with several resorts in Colorado and Utah and expect to begin the hiring process in late summer, as most resorts finalize staffing closer to the season.

Recruitment Process: The process is slower than traditional industries due to the seasonal nature of the work. I’ve been networking with resorts and former coworkers, and keeping an open dialogue with hiring managers at various properties.

Looking Forward To: I’m excited to pursue a career rooted in my passion—skiing. Few people get to say they’re combining business strategy with something they love. This is a leap of faith I’m proud to take.

Advice: Take the risk. “No” is the worst answer you’ll ever get. Following your passion may be scary, but it’s worth it.

Recommended Student: Someone who’s adaptable, confident, and willing to learn. The ski industry is niche and fast-moving—you need to stay curious and flexible to thrive.

Favorite Part of Pamplin: The support and encouragement I’ve received from the Management Department. Entering a niche career path can feel isolating, but the faculty and peers here have always backed me.

Mentor or Inspiration: Professor Christopher Courtney has been instrumental in guiding my path. As my TA supervisor for five semesters, he’s provided mentorship, career guidance, and constant encouragement to pursue what I love.
