Graduation Year: December 2025

Major: Management Consulting and Analytics

Company and Position: I will be interning this summer at TowneBank as a Regulatory Risk Intern, where I’ll help assess and mitigate risks associated with policy, regulation, and standards changes.

Internship Location: TowneBank Headquarters in Suffolk, Virginia, also known as “the campus.” With multiple buildings and a community-like atmosphere, it feels like a return to the Virginia Tech vibe I love.

Recruitment Process: I applied online by submitting a resume and CV, and answering job-specific questions. A recruiter reached out to schedule a behavioral interview, followed by a second interview with the head of Regulatory Risk. I received the offer within two months of applying.

Looking Forward To: I’m eager to explore the field of risk management—something that sparked my interest after taking Intro to Project Management. I’m excited to try something new, learn as much as possible, and contribute fresh ideas to TowneBank’s processes.

Advice: Build connections everywhere—even outside of traditional settings. I learned about TowneBank at a 5K race! Also, embrace every learning opportunity. The little things can help you stand out and grow in unexpected ways.

Recommended Student: Someone with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and an analytical mindset. Risk management requires precision, curiosity, and drive.

Favorite Part of Pamplin: The sense of community. In the Management Department, it’s never just about class—there are clubs, research, leadership roles, and a culture of support that helps you grow personally and professionally.

Mentor or Inspiration: Professor Deck and Professor Ayenda Kemp have both been tremendous sources of inspiration. They’ve given me the tools, confidence, and opportunities I need to succeed beyond the classroom.
