CONGRATULATIONS to Professor Dave Bluey on being recognized with one of the highest awards during the Favorite Faculty award presentation hosted by Virginia Tech Student Affairs on Friday, April 9, 2021.
Nominated by his students, Professor Bluey was awarded the 'Embrace Ut Prosim as a Way of Life' award which recognizes Virginia Tech faculty for their commitment to and exemplary leadership of service.
“Professor Bluey was my first semester Business Management course professor. He embodied the values of Ut Prosim, which as we all know means 'that I may serve', by serving his students needs. During the extenuating circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic he was known to work personally with students to keep them on track in his course and ensure everyone had a fair chance at assignments. He endeavored to maintain a safe classroom environment and always made students comfortable if they wanted to report to class via online zoom instead.” Student Nomination
The Favorite Faculty Awards are coordinated and led by the Housing and Residence Life division of Virginia Tech Student Affairs. Teachers are often the most powerful figures in our lives. Honoring the work of the people we learn from is an important part of how Housing and Residence Life supports the academic mission and vision of the university. That's why each year they give the Favorite Faculty Award.
We are very grateful to Virginia Tech Vice President for Student Affairs Frank Shushok, Jr. and his team for their commitment to this award. They don't have to do this - but rather they want to do it - listening to our students and providing the recognition to the faculty.
Great job Professor Bluey - we are very proud of you!
