Ph.D. Alumni Network

The Ph.D. Alumni Network is envisioned to help our Ph.D. students, alumni, and the department in several important ways, including:

  • Create a vibrant network of fellow Hokies with passion in management research.
  • Contribute to further strengthen the department's Ph.D. program through initiatives such as mentorship of students by alumni, support for job opportunities and career growth, speaking to classes, teaching a course, helping publicize the department’s Ph.D. program, and so on.
  • Engage with young and upcoming scholars and help them thrive in their research and academic jobs.
  • Deeply engage with the department and students through an “Alumni in Residence” opportunity.  This is for alumni-scholars to visit Pamplin for a week to teach a session, discuss research, and enjoy Blacksburg. The department will cover hotel and other local costs during the visit.
  • Have conversation amongst the alumni members to generate ideas for mutual support to each other as well as support to the department.
  • Identification and recognition of most engaged and supportive alumni, such as the “Alumni in Residence” program.

In June 2023, the department hosted a reunion of our Ph.D. alumni. The event was held in Blacksburg and had panels, research discussions, and socials.

We would love to have our alumni engaged with us and our students. If you are interested in being involved, please contact us at mgtdept@vt.edu
