BIOGRAPHY

Greg has over 25 years of Industry Experience in various fields such as Consumer Products, Textiles, Automotive, Building Materials and Autonomous Vehicles.  He’s enjoyed leading Manufacturing, Operations and Engineering departments.  Greg has held various positions as Global Quality Manager, Engineering Manager, Plant Manager, Value Stream Manager and Director level positions in Quality, Operations, New Product Development, Facilities and Safety.  Greg has worked on project teams developing new products, improving manufacturing processes, and improving product quality in over a dozen countries working with a variety of manufacturers and subcontractors.

Greg’s work interests include Facility and Manufacturing Operations, Kaizen and Continuous Improvement, Waste Reduction and Value Stream improvements.  He has been a Certified Lead Internal Auditor and ASQ Certified Quality Manager, and has taught Quality Management courses for the University of Phoenix before teaching at Virginia Tech.

In his current role Greg works full time as the Director of Corporate Quality at Torc Robotics, a Blacksburg based company that has grown from less than 50 to over 900 employees in 3 countries during the last few years.  Torc is a leader in the Autonomous Vehicle space, working with Daimler Truck to create a fleet of fully autonomous Freightliner Cascadia Class 8 vehicles hauling freight in the Southwestern United States. He led the company’s efforts to establish a Quality Management System, and helped Torc to be the first Autonomous Trucking Company to achieve an ISO9001 Quality registration.

A Virginia native, Greg has resided in the New River Valley since 1989.
