Biography

Margaret Deck joined the Department of Management in 2008 after spending over 20 years working in the automotive manufacturing industry where she held various positions in management including the areas of Quality, Production Control, Engineering, and Operations before becoming the Plant Manager of the Federal-Mogul manufacturing facility in Blacksburg,Virginia. She has extensive experience creating and leading Lean systems implementation and Quality systems development to drive operational improvements in many different businesses. Her additional business experiences include union contract negotiation, grievance settlement and arbitration, project management, and strategic planning.

She is a Six Sigma Green Belt (IISE) and a Certified Quality Engineer and Quality Auditor (ASQ).
