Nicole Bailey is from Richmond, Virginia and uses she/her pronouns. She is a senior who is set to graduate this May!

Nicole will be working for Accenture Federal Services after graduation.

We asked Nicole to share both her post-graduation plans and Pamplin experiences with us.

How did you pick your major or concentration? Does it relate to your job?

I started as a Business, undecided major when I applied because I wasn’t completely sure what I wanted to major in. I then picked Management my sophomore year and then added Marketing as a double major. I also looked at the MGT concentrations and thought MCA fit my interests the best and now directly relates to my job.

I love how much support that Pamplin gives you and how many opportunities they provide. I think that they are very good about making sure that you will not only succeed at Virginia Tech, but in the real world as well.

How did you find your job? What is your job title and what do you think you will do for them? How did you find out about this position and how was the recruitment process?

I heard about Accenture Federal Services first in a class and then more about it at Business Horizons. After that I applied online and then had a couple interviews and had to give a presentation for my final interview. My recruiter was very helpful throughout the whole process and the entire thing was very seamless. I will be working with AFS as a Strategy & Consulting Analyst and will be working in the DOJ department.

What are you looking forward to in starting your new position?

I am looking forward to starting my career and continuing to learn more about consulting and work on different projects with different people.

Where is your current job located? Are you excited about your work site?

I will be working in Arlington, VA and am very excited to move up there! I know a lot of people that are moving up there, as well as people who already live there.

What is your favorite part of being a management and or Pamplin student?

I love how much support that Pamplin gives you and how many opportunities they provide. I think that they are very good about making sure that you will not only succeed at Virginia Tech, but in the real world as well.

Has there been a faculty member or staff member within Pamplin and/or the MGT department that has served as a mentor or source of inspiration for you during your journey?

I think that Professor Gresh has been a great mentor, especially this past year with resume help and job searching. He definitely cares about his students’ success and helped me.
