Andrea Alonso

Andrea Sofia Alonso is pursuing her PhD in Management at the Pamplin College of Business, Virginia Tech, with a focus on Organizational Behavior. Her research interests encompass leadership, gender, ethnicity, stereotypes, intersectionality, and the impact of international culture on work environments.

She received her MS in Finance in 2018 and her BS in Finance with a minor in Business Analytics in 2017, graduating summa cum laude from Florida International University.

Before starting her PhD, Andrea worked for three years as a Senior Investment Analyst in Washington, DC, for the Walton family office. Her passion for research and improving work environments ultimately led her to pursue a PhD in Management.
