Prior to joining the faculty at Virginia Tech in August 2017, Phil Thompson was a doctoral student at Case Western Reserve University. His research examines micro-organizational behavior topics including organizational citizenship behavior, impression management, organizational politics, and perceived organizational support and how they, along with gender differences, influence employee job performance.  His work has been published in the Journal of Applied Psychology. Phil worked as a manager and executive for multiple Fortune 500 companies prior to entering academia.
