Graduation Year: 2025

Majors: Business Information Technology (Decision Support Systems), Management Consulting & Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Technology

Company and Position: I will be joining EY as a Technology Risk Professional. I’ll be supporting audit teams to assess IT risks, improve client work through automation and data visualization, and help organizations safeguard their systems and meet compliance standards.

Internship Location: I’ll be working at EY’s Tysons, Virginia office, just outside of Washington, D.C. The energy, office culture, and strong Hokie network at Tysons make it an exciting place to start my career.

Recruitment Process: I first connected with EY through Business Horizons and strengthened those connections by organizing student treks to visit their Tysons office. After completing a summer internship, I was offered a full-time position. Throughout the recruitment process, EY emphasized getting to know me personally, focusing not just on technical skills but also on how I solve problems and collaborate.

Looking Forward To: I’m excited to continue developing my technical and professional skills, work with clients across industries, and contribute to a high-performing, innovation-driven team. I’m also looking forward to building strong client relationships and mentoring future new hires.

Advice: Be curious and take initiative. It’s important to learn both the business and technical sides, ask questions, network early, and pursue diverse experiences inside and outside the classroom. Those unique experiences will truly set you apart.

Recommended Student: Someone who is analytical, collaborative, and always looking to improve systems. If you love solving problems, investigating risks, and helping organizations transform through technology, this field will be a perfect fit.

Favorite Part of Pamplin: The community. Pamplin is full of people who support one another and are passionate about leadership, innovation, and personal growth. Whether through organizations, events, or mentoring, there are so many ways to get involved and grow.

Mentor or Inspiration: Professor Ron Poff has been a constant mentor and source of inspiration since my first day in the Innovate program. His guidance, encouragement, and professional development opportunities have had a major impact on my Virginia Tech journey.
