Biography
Alex joined the Management doctoral program at the Pamplin College of Business in 2014. Before joining the program, he worked as Director of Outreach at the Center for Sustainable Tourism at East Carolina University, where he linked faculty and student expertise with the needs of communities and businesses across North Carolina. He was actively involved with the Center’s grant activity, securing over $100,000 in external funding as well as part of the intergovernmental agency team that developed and launched NC GreenTravel, North Carolina’s first statewide recognition program for green tourism-related businesses.
He received his B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he graduated Summa cum laude with Honors in 2007 and his M.B.A from East Carolina University in 2014.
Alex’s interests in management include business decision-making and corporate social responsibility. He lives in Blacksburg with his wife and two sons.
