Kevin Jones is the new Director of the Business Diversity Center in the Department of Management.

A native of Chester, Pennsylvania, Kevin came to Virginia Tech by way of football. Following an All-American collegiate career, the first-round, seven-year NFL vet, hung up his cleats and returned to Blacksburg to complete his undergraduate degree. In 2014 Jones earned a degree in Industrial Design from Virginia Tech’s College of Architecture, and a minor in Art History. To apply the theoretical to the practical, Jones interned for USM Modular Furniture in Switzerland, in addition to Scott Sports, Switzerland’s premier outdoor sporting brand, where he worked on designing ski equipment and bicycles used in the Tour de France. Since graduation and most recently, Jones joined the Virginia Tech Athletics Department where he served as the Assistant Athletics Director for Special Projects and Design. Taking advantage of the opportunities presented, Jones was key in the creative design concepts of Virginia Tech’s baseball stadium Union Park at English Field, as well as the transformation of the newly renovated Merryman Athletic Facility. Jones is also co-founder and CEO of JoBa Design (, a product design and consultancy startup in Blacksburg, Virginia, where the firm strives to transform conceptual narratives into novel experiences.
